KNIGHT ON WINNING THE FREE THROW GAME

"In any game, I always wanted my team to win the team fouls battles, to be the first to shoot one-and-ones (after the sixth foul on a team each half), and the first to shoot an automatic two free throws (after the ninth foul each half). I think that’s one of the most overlooked and most important aspects of a college game, because it doesn’t just put points on the board but also accumulates fouls on the individual players who wind up on the bench. Time lost on the bench by key opponent players was of incalculable value for us (and vice versa). This was one of the hidden keys to winning that occur in any competitive endeavor. "
